Furniture fabric plus the cushioning beneath — a two-layer odor reservoir that holds smell deep.
Upholstery is a two-layer reservoir: the fabric surface adsorbs compounds, and the cushioning beneath soaks up the oils and moisture that work through. A pet’s favorite spot on the couch is usually the deepest deposit.
Treat the cushioning, not just the fabric — and use a washable throw on the spot going forward.
