Textiles generally — the biggest odor reservoir category in a home, holding smell in fibers and padding.
Fabric is the dominant pet-odor reservoir: it adsorbs compounds across a huge fiber surface area and holds residue in its depth. Every upholstered piece, rug, curtain, blanket, and item of clothing is a fabric reservoir.
The fix is twofold — wash what’s removable, treat the padding beneath what isn’t, and dry fully.
