Fiber — Glossary
A single textile strand — odor adsorbs across the combined surface area of all the fibers in a material.
A textile’s odor capacity comes from its fibers: each strand adsorbs compounds, and a fabric has thousands of them. The more textured and layered the material, the more fiber surface it has — and the more odor it can hold.
That’s why a thick couch holds more than a thin sheet, and why reaching the fibers below the surface matters.
