Warmth increases the volatility of odor compounds — a warm room releases more odor than a cool one.
Odor compounds evaporate into the air, and warmth speeds that up. A warm surface releases more odor faster than a cool one — which is why a sunny patch of carpet or a warm room smells stronger.
Temperature doesn’t create the odor; it accelerates the release of what’s already there.
