Odor — Glossary
Volatile compounds released by residues that become airborne and register as smell.
Odor isn’t a substance — it’s molecules in the air. Pet odor is a mixture of volatile compounds released by the residues pets leave behind: urine, skin oils, moisture, dander.
The smell lives in the surfaces holding those residues, not the air — which is why treating the air alone never fixes it.
