A mattress is one of the deepest odor reservoirs — oils and moisture soak past the surface into the layers below, which are slow to dry and hard to treat. An accident on a mattress is one of the hardest odor problems in the home.
Treat the surface and the deeper layers, allow a full day or more to dry, and add a waterproof protector going forward.
