Subfloor — Glossary
The structural floor beneath carpet and padding — the deepest layer urine deposits can reach.
The subfloor is the wood or concrete deck under your flooring — the last layer a soaking accident can reach. Urine that penetrates carpet and padding pools on the subfloor and soaks into it.
Subfloor deposits are the deepest reservoir — they explain odor that survives carpet cleaning, and they need treatment or sealing before new flooring goes down.
