Lipase — Glossary
An enzyme that breaks down fats and oils — it targets sebum and grease-type residues.
Lipase is the enzyme matched to oils. In pet-odor terms, it targets the skin oils (sebum) that pets deposit on the surfaces they lie on — the greasy, musty component of dog odor especially.
An enzyme blend that includes lipase addresses the oil-based part of pet odor that a protein-only enzyme misses.
