Odor Intensity — Glossary
How strong an odor reads — driven by the concentration of compounds and your perception of them.
Odor intensity is the perceived strength of a smell. It depends on how much compound is in the air (concentration) and how sensitive your nose is to it (perception — which is why a visitor smells what you’ve adapted to).
High intensity usually means a concentrated or continuous source — like a litter box or an untreated accident.
