Grout — Glossary
The porous material between tiles — it can hold urine and residue even after the tile surface is clean.
Tile itself is non-porous and easy to clean — but grout is not. The cement-based material between tiles absorbs liquids and can hold urine residue that keeps releasing odor long after the floor looks clean.
Scrub the grout lines, treat them where accidents sat, and dry the floor fully.
