Deodorizer — Glossary
A product intended to reduce odor — may mask the smell or neutralize the compounds, depending on the mechanism.
Deodorizer is a broad label covering two very different mechanisms. Some deodorizers mask — they add fragrance on top of the smell. Others neutralize — they act on the odor compounds themselves.
The label matters: check whether the product acts on the odor source or just covers it. For persistent pet odor, a neutralizing or residue-targeting approach outperforms a mask.
