Pet Crate — Glossary
An enclosed pet space — bedding plus walls — that concentrates odor in a small volume.
A crate concentrates odor because it’s small, enclosed, and lined with bedding. The dog’s oils and moisture build up in the bedding and on the crate walls, and the small air volume lets the smell concentrate fast.
Wash the crate bedding weekly, wipe the walls, and let the crate air out between uses.
